The urgency of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 exposed critical gaps in global diagnostic infrastructure. Prof. Dr. Byron Martina, one of our founders, witnessed firsthand how traditional molecular diagnostics, especially RNA extraction workflows often failed to deliver the speed required in emergency situations, particularly in remote or resource-limited settings.
AthenaTecs responded with ExtraFree™ Lysis Buffer, an extraction-free innovation designed to simplify molecular workflows and accelerate time-to-result. Developed through targeted Research & Development and validated in both controlled and field environments, this buffer has become the cornerstone of our growing product line.
