Our Story
Founded by Prof. Dr. Byron Martina and a team of passionate innovators, AthenaTecs was created to tackle the critical challenges in diagnostics faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Dr. Byron Martina, a leading expert in virology, saw firsthand how traditional diagnostic workflows were often too slow, complex, and dependent on scarce resources. In response, AthenaTecs developed extraction-free solutions, reagents and buffers designed to streamline diagnostics without compromising accuracy or reliability.

Prof. Dr. Byron Martina, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), is a valued guide and immuno-virologist with decades of experience in development and improvement of diagnostic assays for emerging viruses. His clinical and strategic view help the R&D course of the corporation and enables AthenaTecs to function at the leading edge of area-based diagnostics.
Eurydice Martina, Chief Operating Officer (COO), oversees the corporation’s strategic course and each day operations. With a passion for business and improvement, she ensures clinical breakthroughs are translated into scalable, real-world products. Eurydice plays a key function in coping with partnerships, constructing the corporation, and expanding Athenatecs’ global attain.
Jeroen Roose, Director of R&D, leads innovation at AthenaTecs. With a study background in molecular biology and biotechnology, he oversees the improvement and optimization of diagnostic assays and technology.
Annazulia Martina, Co-founder and Chief Financial Officer, is chargeable for financialstrategy. From 2020 to 2024 she was active in business development and served as General Director until April 2025, helping to establish and shape the foundation of AthenaTecs.
